Even though Delta Gamma is one big family, we can never forget about our own wonderful families, especially our parents. They were there for us when we fell off our bikes for the first time or when we ever so thoughtfully decided to decorate the house with crayons. Our Moms comforted us when we broke up with our junior high boyfriends by telling us it was not the end of the world – and as it turns out, she was right. Our Dads were always at every little dance recital we had, and even though he pretended not to like it, on the inside he was so proud to see his little girl in the spotlight.
Our parents taught us values and most of all taught us how to love. Even though we are away at school now, they are still a valuable part of our lives. That is why Delta Gamma is always excited to plan family related events. Parent's Day lets both of our parents come and tailgate with us before a football game. At Father-Daughter Day, the girls and their dads go out to eat and to a baseball game. In the Spring we hold a Mother-Daughter event, too. Not only can we make new friends through Delta Gamma; so can our parents.
